Weigh-in 18! Meeting topic and more goal talk

Wee warning, there is a lot of math and number talk in this post.

Last night was of course my weigh-in and to be honest, I was quietly confident this week despite my total lack of exercise during the week and the fact on Sunday I went to Gavin's parent's house for an amazing bbq. I was good with my points over the week, and had walked a lot even if I didn't go for a run or in fact any other real type of exercise. But being good with the points paid off! This week I lost 2.5lbs! - though to be fair I wore a summer dress to my weigh in which is a bit lighter than the clothes I normally wear so there is a possibility of a false weigh-in, but sure, all clothes weigh something.

So as always, I re-cap.

Week 1= Initial starting weigh in

Week 2= -9.5lbs!

Week 3= -2lbs

Week 4= -5.5lbs

Week 5= -1.5lbs

Week 6= week off for easter

Week 7= -2.5lbs

Week 8= -3lbs

Week 9= -4.5lbs

Week 10= -2.5

Week 11= -2.5

Week 12= -2.5

Week 13= -1.5

Week 14= -1.5

Week 15= -3

Week 16= -2

Week 17 = -2

Week 18= -2.5

So overall that's a total loss of 48.5lbs!

I don't think I talk about it much here but I'm also a bit fixated on my measurements, my inches, and in particular my waist to hip ratio. Waist-to-hip ratio (WHR) is the ratio of the circumference of the waist to that of the hips. It is calculated by measuring the smaller circumference of the natural waist, usually just above the belly button, and dividing by the hip circumference at its widest part of the buttocks or hip. The ratio is applied both to women and men (Thank you wikipedia). The ideal number for women is in and around the 0.7 mark. I tend to only do my measurements ever two weeks (it takes ages for them to change) and actually last time I decided I wanted to leave it longer, so it's been 3 weeks today since I last measured it. I did the math and after being in and around the 0.81 to 0.83 point for what seems like forever, this morning I'm at 0.79! I am so very chuffed about that!

The meeting topic was activity and exercise, linking it into the Summer and the better weather. As soon as I sat down and seen that my leader had set up her table revolving around exercise I was pleased, some of you who follow me on my @redrunner182 weightwatchers twitter account know that I'm finding it really hard to get my head around the whole activity points concept, so I was hoping it would go into a bit of that. But no. It was about myth busting and promoting cumulative exercise (where any type of exercise is good, it all adds up). I was really, really disappointed with the talk. Some of it I found just silly, like discussing that some people feel hungry after doing exercise, and talking about the mental reasons behind that. Stupid because it just takes the few seconds to say, the reason for that is that you are dehydrated after sweating like that. Drink water, Get on with it. But that wasn't actually said, they seemed to hmm and ha about it and then give the idea up as a lost cause. Frustrating. I get the whole need for addressing such myths, like that muscle can turn into fat (obvious fiction, two different types of tissue, they can't turn into eachother) but they all could have been addressed quickly. There is bound to be other people in my meeting who like me, do a reasonable amount of activity through the week and for the most part get lost with the whole activity points... so frustrating... Next time I see my leader I'm just going to ask her straight out to talk about them.

Anyway, moving on. Next week I will have been on the program 4 full months, and in those four months I think my achievements are absolutely amazing!

I have lost 25% of my overall body weight.

I am half a pound of my 3.5 stone!

I am 1.5lbs from my 50lb overall loss!

I am only 5lbs from my healthy goal.

And 10lbs from my Gold membership.

I'm really liking my numbers at the minute!

My plans for next week are to have hit my 3.5 stone and the 50lb loss. So I'll get that on the Tuesday, which is the day before I graduate! Next weeks post will inevitably have a lot of photographs when I get around to it.

Last night after my meeting, myself and my lovely boyfriend went out for dinner, a kind of date night. Just to a local restaurant. And although I was good with my points yesterday day, having only 3 all day before my dinner, I was bold last night.

4.5 points of wine, 2.5 points of vodka.

Fajitas for dinner and garlic potatoes (easily 20 points)

29062010053

And then coffee, no dessert, but to be fair, at that point I couldn't eat another bite.

I don't mind, or feel guilty though, I enjoyed it too much. We went home for a cuddle on the sofa watching the most cringe worthy film ever - Leap Year. Oh god the amount of stereotypes in it was ridiculous. And so incredibly cringe worthy. I'll never watch it again, but it was a bit cute. The American actress in it was a load of shite. But anyway, I digress...

This week’s plans are to lose at least the 1.5lbs needed to hit the big 50lb. A bit disappointed that my usual leader Jackie will not be there next week, it’s her daughters graduation, and then the week afterwards, my meeting is closed due to it being the 13th July. And then the week afterwards it’s my birthday and I will be away with Gav so I will miss that meeting too! So the next few weeks will be a bit up in the air, but hopefully that will not affect my losses.
